TAKE · ON-SET DATA ACQUISITION & MANAGEMENT
Photograph the clapperboard and TAKE fills in the rest: scene, take, cameras, sound. One tap shares it to the crew’s chat. At wrap, the whole day goes to the cart.
Ask for early accessBuilt for whoever holds the board, in the seconds between takes.
Snap the slate and the take is logged. Scene, take, cameras and sound carry over from the last one, two taps to change anything. The photo is the record.
Save & share drops the take into the crew’s chat as clean, labelled lines. No retyping, no second app.
Slate 47, take 3, or shot 6A, take 3. Chosen per production, so TAKE speaks the language on the board.
A new shoot day starts on its own. A night shoot that runs past midnight stays one day.
The day’s standard shots in a strip: shot, merged or not filmed. One tap starts the next.
Lens from the kit, focal length, focus, height and tilt from start to end, stop, shutter, frame rate and filter.
Each person on a slate by their release number, never a name, and what that release allows: likeness edits, generative use, training. The footage carries it into post.
Build the production’s kit once and pick from it all shoot. Change it later without touching a single past take.
An edit or a delete is a new record. What was logged on set stays exactly as it was logged.
No account, nothing uploaded. The day lives on the phone until you share or export it.
The day leaves the phone in one piece, and the cart sends back what it found.
One file carries the whole day: every slate, take, photo and scan.
GATE pairs each take with the camera clips and sound it belongs to, and only asks about the ones that disagree.
What the cart confirmed and corrected comes back to TAKE. Nothing you logged is changed.
No GATE on the job? TAKE stands on its own: the slate table exports the day as a spreadsheet for any workflow.
Bring a scan in from Scaniverse, open it in 3D on the phone, tap two marks and type the tape measure between them. The scan now has real-world scale, filed under the location it belongs to.
Plenty of sets already log in a group chat. Import the chat’s export and TAKE turns it into days, shots and takes. You confirm the episode before anything is written, and slates logged on the wrong episode move across in one go.
In testing now on a live production, on iPhone, with a working DIT. Android follows. Capture is free and stays free. Next on the bench: more of the VFX data a supervisor collects on set.
TAKE is a Lenscowboy product. It works on its own, and with GATE.
